Tynemouth WW1 Commemoration Project

Being a business based in North Shields, Kimmerston Design is proud to support the Tynemouth WW1 Commemoration Project, formed in 2010 to research the 2,000 men listed in the Tynemouth Borough Roll of Honour, who were killed or died as a direct result of the First World War 1914-1918. We have been heavily involved in producing a wide range of promotional material such as flyers, posters, tickets and displays for many high profile events including talks, lectures, exhibitions, a new play 'Death at Dawn' written by Peter Mortimer, and a major concert at Sage Gateshead in support of ABF The Soldiers' Charity and SSAFA. In November 2014, the Project commissioned a special commemorative ale in association with Three Kings Brewery, for which we have produced pump clips and bottle labels. With Heritage Lottery and Arts Council funding the project has created an online database which will be an immensely valuable resource for future research by students, historians and family members alike.

In 2016 the Project members were delighted to be recognised with a Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. Kimmerston Design is justly proud of the part we played in helping to gain such recognition for the Project.
